André
Legault studied law at University of Montreal and was admitted to
the Quebec Bar in 1973.
He
practiced two years within a Legal Aid office, and currently practices
privately within the law firm since 1975.
The
professional expertise of André Legault is focused on Labour
and employment law: wrongful dismissal, unfair labour practice complaints,
labour arbitration and dispute resolution, workers' compensation
for invalidity, union negligence and health and safety prosecutions.
André
Legault regularly pleads before civil and administrative courts,
in relation to judicial and administrative review, insurance law
and professional liability and intellectual property.
André
Legault actually manages an important governmental class action
for a group of state workers against their union and the Quebec
government.
André
Legault actively participated in the adoption and modification of
several laws, such as the Consumer Protection Act, the Labour Standards
Act, the Class Action Act, the Industrial Accidents and Occupational
Diseases Act and the Labour Code.
André
Legault is socially and politically involved. He is an active member
of the Graduated Association of Law Faculty of University of Montreal.
André
Legault also represents the interests of numerous associations in
matter of education, equity and individual and collective protection
of rights.
